Cody Ko (born Cody Michael Kolodziejzyk on November 22, 1990) is a Canadian-American YouTuber, podcaster, comedian, and rapper. He gained prominence through his comedic content on Vine and later expanded his reach on YouTube, where he is known for his commentary videos and as one half of the comedy-rap duo Tiny Meat Gang.

Early Life and Education

Cody Ko was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, to Greg and Helen Kolodziejzyk. His father, Greg, is a professional cyclist and entrepreneur. Cody has a sister named Krista. He attended Springbank Community High School and later graduated from Duke University in 2012 with a degree in computer science. At Duke, he was a member of the varsity swimming and diving team and participated in fraternity life.

Career Beginnings

After college, Cody developed the photo-sharing app "I'd Cap That," which added humorous captions to photos. The app went viral and was acquired by Iddiction, where Cody worked as an iOS developer. He later joined Fullscreen as a senior iOS developer, where he met future collaborator Noel Miller.

Rise to Online Fame

Cody began creating content on Vine in 2013, amassing nearly 2 million followers before the platform's closure. He transitioned to YouTube in 2014, where he gained popularity with his "That's Cringe" series alongside Noel Miller. The duo also formed the comedy-rap group Tiny Meat Gang (TMG), releasing music and hosting the Tiny Meat Gang Podcast, which won Best Podcast at the 11th Shorty Awards in 2019.

Music and Podcasting

As Tiny Meat Gang, Cody and Noel released several EPs, including "Bangers & Ass" and "Locals Only." They signed with Arista Records in 2019. In 2021, they co-founded TMG Studios, a comedy podcast network. Cody has also released solo singles and is a resident DJ at Wynn Las Vegas.

Personal Interests

Cody is an avid runner, having completed multiple marathons, an ultramarathon, and an Ironman Triathlon. He documents his training on a separate YouTube channel, "Cody Trains." His dedication to fitness reflects his family's athletic background.

Personal Life

Cody met Kelsey Kreppel in 2017, and the couple married on February 4, 2023. They welcomed their first child, Otis, in January 2024. The family resides in Los Angeles, California.

Controversies

In 2024, fellow YouTuber Tana Mongeau alleged that she and Cody had a sexual encounter in 2015 when she was 17 and he was 25, which would have been illegal under Florida law. Cody stepped down from day-to-day operations at TMG Studios following the allegations. He did not immediately respond to the claims but addressed them later that year.

Cody Ko's journey from software developer to internet personality showcases his versatility and adaptability in the digital age. Despite facing controversies, his contributions to online entertainment through comedy, music, and podcasting have left a significant impact.
